Saint Jude School Lenten Practices
A number of other Lenten activities are planned for our students:
LENT PRAYER PARTNERS
Grades 5K- 8th grade students will pick a Lent Prayer Partner. Students choose a name within their age level and that is their “special person” for whom they will pray during Lent. Students pray for their “partners” throughout Lent. Teachers will also draw a name of another faculty/team teacher/staff as their Lent prayer partner.
PAUSE/PAWS FOR PRAYER (We are Bobcats!)
Mrs. LaDien will announce a 1-minute “Pause for Prayer” at 10:30 AM each day. This will be a one-minute pause to pray for our Prayer Partners. This is a nice way to unite as a whole school in prayer and add an extra silent prayer into our daily routine.
Teachers in each grade will prepare their classes with individual age-appropriate classroom Lent activities such as making Lenten promises, saying Stations of the Cross, writing in prayer journals, Last Supper-12 Apostles project, etc.
In addition to classroom prayers, projects and activities, the Stations of the Cross will be prayed in religion classes Thursday, February 25th, Wednesday, March 10th and Thursday, March 25th.
If you'd like to pray these stations, pleases visit the Saint Jude the Apostle School Wauwatosa You Tube Channel at:
Boosterthon is Coming Soon
It's time for Boosterthon, one of our Home and School's
Here's what we can look forward to:
Fun, engaging character development lessons each day with a focus on
TEAM WORK, CARING, COURAGE, GRIT AND CELEBRATION
All students participate in all activities regardless of financial participation. However, we do need everyone to register!
If we reach our goal of $20,000, the students will earn another day of celebrating by participating in Field Days in May.
On the day that’s Dance Fit, March 19th, students can dress in any attire from any decade symbolizing dance - 20’s, 50’s, 80’s, or other school-appropriate clothing.
There’s a great video called “The Student Star Video” which you can create for your child on the funrun.com website. Simply upload a photo of your child and he/she will become part of the video. Fun for family and friends to see!
Who should contribute to the fundraiser component?
Our own school families give in so many ways during the year through their time, talent and treasure, that we are hoping that our students will be able to gather pledges from grandparents, aunts, uncles, neighbors and friends. Beginning March 8th, once the child has registered, all donations may be made through the following link:

Dear Women of Saint Jude,
This is the week you would traditionally be attending the " Morning of Reflection" breakfast event sponsored by the Women of Saint Jude. Due to Covid restrictions we will have to forgo our event but we have something special for you!
This year, we enter Lent with a lot on our minds and in our hearts. We invite you to read "Mending our Hearts: Daily Reflections, Contemplations and Prayers" by Alice Camille. She invites us to rediscover and reimagine Community each day of Lent, " through the benevolent eyes of Jesus."
During this past year, some of us got sick. Some of us lost people whose absence can never be filled. As we enter this new season of repentance, let's mend our world together, committing to the common good as we seek to heal the body and soul. We hope this booklet will feed your soul.
These booklets will be made available to you outside of the church entrance in a marked bin. We ask that you take one per family, please. We hope that you are enlightened by our gift from us to you.
Sincerely, The Morning of Reflection Committee.
If you are unable to pick up a booklet please call: Denise Jenich @ 414-617-0540 or Gayle Ritter @414-380-2313.
